Since 2022, the Wage Committee will vote to increase the minimum wage from 313-336 baht per day to 328-354 baht per day, depending on the area. It will take another 2 years for the three-party board, namely employers, employees and business operators, to reach a consensus. It took a long time to negotiate. Until last night (23 December), there was a resolution to increase the minimum wage by 400 baht in 4 provinces and 1 district: Phuket, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong and Surat Thani, specifically Koh Samui District. Other provinces will have lower rates, effective from 1 January 2025.
